It is a beautiful circular hall with a dome vault, that in the middle age the popular traditions called “Truglio”.
Its structure of hemispheric shape with a circular eye on the top of the vault of the Mercurio’s Temple also known as the echo’s Temple lets a comparison with the Pantheon.
The preservation, almost integral, of the dome vault, constituted of big tufa rocks, and the structural of the walls in opus reticularum, permits the temporal collocation in a period before the edification of the other dome buildings of the Phlegrean area and the Pantheon, between the end of the Republican age and the beginning of Octavian Augustus rifle together with the waters and the volcanic nature of the ground.
La sua struttura di forma emisferica con un'apertura di un occhio circolare sulla sommità della volta del Tempio di Mercurio, noto anche come Tempio dell'Eco, per l'effetto acustico che produce la sua concavità chiusa, ne consentono l'accostamento al più famoso Pantheon: il diametro della sala è infatti di poco inferiore proprio alla metà del diametro del Pantheon.
